When police searched the run-down, two-story house on Tuller Street in Detroit, they found something that took even longtime cops by surprise: a woman chained to a stripper’s pole, with a padlock around her neck. She’d been there for weeks, she told police — a form of punishment for trying to escape the residence. The 25-year-old woman told investigators she was a sex slave, one of four living in the home that authorities say was a prison-like brothel run by Ryon L. Travis, 32. He called them his “wives,” but prosecutors have accused Travis of treating the women more like slaves who were marketed online for profit. After being unchained, the woman told police that she had known Travis since she was 19, and that over the past year and a half, he had forced her and the other women into sex work. The woman noted that Travis had been pocketing her $700 Social Security disability check each month. “She said that the defendant posted advertisements online and in chat rooms that he had four girls for sale,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Sara Woodward said at a March 23 detention hearing whose audio was provided to The Washington Post. “And she said that if she or the other women refused to dance or perform sex acts, the defendant would be violent with them, and that he would hit them with a closed fist, kick them or push them down.”
Charli Parker is a teacher at a private school in western Alabama.
So is her husband, James Parker.
Jamie and Charli Parker. (Pickens County Sheriff’s Office)
On Monday, she was arrested — accused of having sex with a student, the Alabama Media Group reported. Two days later, her husband was arrested on the same charge, involving a different victim. James “Jamie” Parker was booked into the Pickens County Jail and charged with engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19 as a school employee, according to District Attorney J. Chris McCool. Charli Parker also faces accusations of carrying on a sexual relationship with a student, from October 2014 until March 2016, according to court documents. After the arrests, Jamie and Charli Parker were suspended from their positions at Pickens Academy, according to statements from the school in Carrollton, Ala., not far from the Mississippi border. “I want to make clear that none of the crimes occurred on campus at [Pickens Academy] and that the administration there has cooperated fully with the investigation,” McCool, the district attorney, said in an email to The Post on Friday. McCool told The Post that Jamie Parker’s alleged victim is a former female student; Charli Parker’s alleged victim is a male student.
According to court documents, investigators believe Charli Parker and a student met several times for sexual encounters, including at a cemetery. On Thursday, court officials told the Dispatch, a newspaper in nearby Columbus, Miss., that warrants for Jamie Parker’s case weren’t available yet. “The incidents involving the husband and wife are separate and unrelated in place and manner of commission,” McCool, the prosecutor, told AL.com.
Another Alabama teacher charged with having a sexual relationship with a student is challenging the constitutionality of the state's law banning school employee sex with students under the age of 19.
Carrie Cabri Witt, 42, a history, psychology and social studies teacher at Decatur High School, was arrested in March for having a sexual relationship with two male students, both of whom were 17 at the time of the alleged acts. She also coached girls' golf and junior varsity cheerleaders, according to the school's website.
Witt's attorneys, Robert Tuten and Nick Heatherly, filed a challenge to the constitutionality of the school employee law on Monday and request for dismissal of the charge against her, according to Morgan County court records.
Morgan County District Judge Brent Craig has given prosecutors until April 22 to respond to the constitutional challenge. The judge also delayed a scheduled April 21 preliminary hearing for Witt in her case because of the challenge.
There are a lot of things that can go wrong with your vagina. From yeast infections to toxic shock syndrome,
problems range from straight up uncomfortable to flat out dangerous if
you’re not treating your lady parts with care. So naturally, we got a
little nervous when we heard that the clothes we wear might be
unknowingly wrecking havoc down there. If you search the Internet to find out what causes yeast infections
or other ailments like bacterial vaginosis, chances are you’ve stumbled
upon the notion that wearing tight pants can cause some issues. Does this mean you have to give up your skinny jeans to avoid an
obnoxious itch? We asked someone whose job it is to keep vaginas
healthy.
We
were more successful the next time, and over the course of our
year-long relationship, I really got the sex-with-a-girl-thing down.
These days my lady-laden romance resume speaks for itself: I can do (and even teach workshops about) The Vagina² Sex. And all you straight, bi-curious, bisexual and/or newly queer women can, too.
1. Vagina schmagina
As long as we’re talking modern fluidity, let’s remember that vaginas
can be attached to all kinds of bodies with all kinds of gender
identities. First things first, always check with your partner about how
they want their body parts referred to. Ask for pronouns, and stick to the singular they/them pronoun when you’re unsure.
2. Your partner’s vagina isn’t your vagina.
Being anatomically similar doesn’t automatically award you a
muff-diving degree. All vaginas respond differently to stimulation and
unless you’re blessed with some major flexibility, nothing can really
prepare you for complicated cunnilingus. This is intimidating, but the
good news is that this is true for everyone with all kinds of anatomy
and sexual identities — everyone responds differently to sexual
stimulation, so in reality, nobody has any idea what they’re doing when
they sleep with a new person.
3. Hit the books before you hit the hay.
Google isn’t the most
reliable or accurate sex educator. Start your vaginal explorations at
the bookshelves with great queer sex how-tos like Lesbian Sex Bible by Diana Cage and Girl Sex 101 by Allison Moon & K.D. Diamond, or watch true-blue, bonafide queer porn sex scenes like those from the Crash Pad Series.
Learning anatomy on the page or the screen rather than in-the-moment
takes the pressure off your partner to speak for all queer people with
vaginas and will give you a leg (or labia) up when you get down to
licking, sucking and fucking.
4. Think before you dopplebang.
Sleeping with a similarly new-to-vaginas partner has its pros and
cons. If you were ever in high school, chances are you know how awkward
sex can be when two virgins are trying to have it. Letting someone with
more experience take the lead initially is easier, and learning by
example is pleasurable to say the least. Swinging the other way on the issue (as so many of us like to do),
hooking up with another newbie can feel like you’re on a new, vajestic
journey together — teaming up to reach the sparkly orgasm jewels at the
end of this epic sexual exploration. Plus, if this adventure turns out
to be a one-night-only experimentation, you likely run a lower risk of
hurting the feelings of someone already firmly invested in the queerness
quest.
5. Kindly get your acrylics away from my cervix.
Finger-fucking is no place for dagger nails.
6. Forget your ABCs.
Chowing down on fish tacos, munching carpet, dining beneath the
bridge, yodeling in the love canyon, lapping the labia — whatever you
want to call it, cunnilingus is one of the staples of lesbian sex (and
hello, any sex involving a vagina!). Cunnlingus can feel intimidating at first but think back to your
first blowjob. Were you like, “I know exactly what to do once I put my
mouth on this other person’s genitalia!”? Probably not. It takes time to
learn this skill, and when it comes to enjoying getting eaten out,
we’ve got time. Whatever you do, remember that tracing the alphabet is for tots, not
for twats. Abandon all cunnilingus tips you’ve heard involving the
alphabet and instead diversify your tongue techniques over time. Though
you don’t want to stay in one place or do the same tongue motion for too
long, you also don’t want to move L-M-N-O-P-fast. Get more cunnlingus tips from yours truly-good-at-it before going down.
7. Vaginas are attached to humans.
Even though you’re going gay in the hay, stick to straight talk.
Telling your potential labia-loving-lover it’s your first time is
recommended, but telling them they’re your weird experiment isn’t. Sure, some people will be happy to toast you as a virgin to the
vagina, but others aren’t so into introducing newbies to the realm of
queer sex. “I’ve never slept with a woman before but you’re hot”; “I
only do this when I’m drunk”; or “My boyfriend said I could hook up with
a chick because it doesn’t count” may seem like compliments (uh, maybe)
but probably won’t go over well with those you’re trying to hit on if
vagina-on-vagina sex is what their real live sex lives are made of. Though this might be a fun ride on the rainbow rollercoaster for you,
queer women may actually have legitimate feelings for other women, so
treat those feelings with respect.
8. Ask questions.
As I’ve said before, never have I given a partner a mind-blowing orgasm without asking questions.
What all partners have responded well to is my being open to feedback
and learning about their bodies, my asking questions about what they
like and want, and by practicing active consent. They haven’t always
responded to fancy cunnilingus tricks or my impressive sex toy
collection, but everyone responds positively to being respected as a
multifaceted sexual individual.
9. Finally, don’t sweat the labels because nobody cares about them anymore.
Broadly reports on what your vagina should smell like, and it turns out the answer is as complex as the day is long. Every vagina is its own richly fragrant snowflake and so there isn't one correct smell. Why is this? Basically, it's a combination of billions of bacteria specific to your vag. However, there are a few across-the-board odors that almost every vag deals with. From Broadly:
The vaginal flora work to keep your vagina's pH at 4.5, or slightly acidic.
It's likely that your vagina has a slightly sour smell.
There will also most likely be a slight musty smell, from sweat that builds up in the nooks and crannies of the human body.
Neither of these smells should be overpowering. In a blog post on Web MD, Dr. Heather Rupe says you should be able to smell a vagina from one foot away.
One foot away! I'm gonna bust that fact out at my next dinner party. (Can you invite me to a dinner party? I'm excellent company!) Broadlyreports on
what your vagina should smell like, and it turns out the answer is as
complex as the day is long. Every vagina is its own richly fragrant
snowflake and so there isn't one correct smell. Why is this? Basically,

Authorities in Nashville, Tennessee report that a woman arrested on an outstanding warrant had hidden a packet of heroin in her vagina when apprehended and then tried to eat it during a strip search.
Police report that employees of a local Thornton’s Gas Station called police when they saw a woman sitting in a parked car for an unusual amount of time in the store’s parking lot. Upon investigating, officers identified Jean Carrion-Velazquez and, when they ran her name, found an outstanding warrant on her. In the vehicle, officers also found three needles they say had recently been used to shoot heroin.
Carrion-Velazquez was taken to the Davidson County Jail for processing and was subjected to a routine strip search. It was then the officer discovered something hidden away in her privates. Officer reported finding a “folded piece of paper with a white powdery substance inside her vagina.”
There are lots of exciting
ways to eat an apple. You can bake it in a pie, you can slice it up
into small pieces, you can eat it whole, or, for some added flavor, you
can do what this couple is doing and eat it straight from the loins of your lover.
A woman on Reddit recently posted
about a new sex fetish she and her husband have been trying out, in
which he asks her to place a food item ("like apples, pears, carrots,
etc...") in her vagina all day, and then he eats it from her vagina
later that evening. *Chef's kiss* MWAH, a true delicacy, because what
could be better than vaginally fermented fruit?
This
kink has been going on for about two months, she writes, and she posted
her experience to Reddit because she has some concerns, like,
"Can this make him or I sick?" She does clarify that the fruits and
carrots are all organic, and she cleans them thoroughly before poppin'
'em up there. But still. Gotta stay woke when it comes to stocking your
vagina like it's a Whole Foods.
Commenters on the post, which appears in r/sex,
warn the original poster that this is certainly going to end in a
yeast infection. "Organic or not, this is going to end with an infection
of sorts," wrote
calliecan. "Vegetables aren't meant to go inside of vaginas." Others
have voiced similar concerns, but by far the most helpful comment comes
from someone who claims to be a real medical doctor, and had paragraphs of
insight to offer. The commenter claimed to be a family practitioner,
not a gynecologist, and they did point out that this is all rudimentary
advice, since this couple is "engaging in an activity that's never been
studied by medical science."
The
doctor commenter first points out that if the kink is just about
leaving something in your vagina all day, try "toys designed for
insertion" instead of fruit, and be sure to leave it in there for less
than 12 hours to avoid toxic shock syndrome. Some other highlights from the doctor's advice, in case you and your partner want to try experimenting with organic produce foreplay:
"use barrier devices as such condoms or plastic wrap to avoid bacteria/yeast access to sugars in the fruits/vegetables"
"if
you're not going to use condoms, choose fruits/vegetables with a
especially waxy skins such as some apples or cucumber that function
somewhat like a barrier"
So
maybe like, try a kiwi, or an orange, or some other fruit that has skin
you don't eat. Just my advice, I'm no expert here. Definitely best to
steer clear of putting anything that's not a sex toy, tampon, Nuva ring,
finger, or penis up there though.
Did you know vaginas come in different shapes, sizes and colors?
There is a good deal of variations and men have their preferences. So
here we run down five types of vaginas that pleasure men the most.
The bone head vagina: If you are skinny or petite,
chances are there that your vagina is bony and narrow. Men love it as
they allow a little tighter fit, ensuring a very sensational experience.
They also give men a major confidence boost as they don’t ever have to
worry about whether or not they are big enough. The fatty lip vagina: The fatty lip vagina is very
soft and is a favorite among the male population. They appear very
kissable and easier to find for penetration. Ingrown hairs are also
uncommon in a fatty lip vagina.
The virginal vagina: You are sure to please your
partner if you have a tight virginal vagina. The walls of your vagina
may be so tight that they may just be closing in. The snug fit makes for
great stimulation and sex. The close fit makes men think that your
vagina was made specifically for them.
The expert vagina: The expert vagina is the one
which is experienced and exists in a state of perpetual preparedness,
which attracts men. It also has just the right texture and tightness
which never disappoint men. Peek-a-boo vagina: If you have a peek-a-boo vagina,
your clitoris is just out to give you the perfect tease. Only a touch or
a tickle on the clitoris can be enough to turn you on. Men love the
orgasms you get with these as the orgasms make them realize that they
are doing their job just right.
When ranking the coolest things on the planet, the vagina is up at the
top of the list. It can do so many incredible things: multiply in size
to deliver a baby, have two types of orgasms, and even clean itself
without any assistance. But just like any hard working gal, a vagina
needs her rest too. But even after those lights go out, your vagina
can't seem to stop working and what happens to your vagina while you're asleep proves just how much of an overachiever it is.
If you have breasts, online retailer ThirdLove’s breast shape dictionary is oddly fascinating to look at. The illustrated guide is designed to help shoppers find the best fitting bra, which may seem like an impossible task. At first glance it appears to be a simple roundup of the seven most common types of breast shapes, but once you spend more than a minute analyzing the accompanying images it opens the door for so many questions. Which one is my shape? Does shape matter just as much as size? Will it really help me find a better bra? What if my breasts fall somewhere between two different shapes?

Don’t know much about the clitoris? It’s probably not your fault. Did you know the clitoris is a large and complex organ? If not, it's probably not your fault: in anatomical textbooks, few words and diagrams are devoted to understanding the clitoris. Most label the very small portion of the organ visible on diagrams of the vulva, when in fact it's almost entirely under the skin.
Studies of historical anatomical textbooks have shown that depictions of the clitoris were significantly limited and often omitted completely from the mid-19th into the 20th century.
During these times there were ideologies and subsequent theories relating to women's bodies that likely encouraged and sustained censorship of the clitoris. For instance, there was Freud's now defunct theory that clitoral stimulation was a sign of sexual immaturity and neurosis. Women were also taught not to enjoy sex; women had sex for reproductive purposes, while men had sex for pleasure.
These fallacies led to the neglect of the clitoris in research, literature and the public domain. Although more recent research and feminist lobbying have improved the quality of information on the clitoris in current textbooks, most texts are still brief. These include minimal information, or information only on the external portion of the clitoris (the glans). This brevity has impacts on health care for women with clitoral and related pain.
This figure, published in 2014, depicts the clitoris as only the external clitoral glans and prepuce (hood).
What is the clitoris? The clitoris lies at the junction of the labia minora (the inner lips of the vulva), just above the urethra. It is made up of four main parts: the glans, body, two crura and two bulbs. The glans is the only external part of the clitoris and is covered by a hood of skin.
The body, corpora, crura and bulbs of the clitoris are all made up of erectile tissue and converge below the glans. The body of the clitoris is generally 1-2cm wide and 2-4cm long.
The crura extend laterally from the body of the clitoris and are on average around 5-9cm long. The bulbs of the clitoris are generally 3-7cm long and lie between the body, crura and the urethra.
The clitoris is highly innervated, with twice as many nerve endings as the penis, and receives a rich blood supply. This rich blood supply allows the erectile components to swell up, with the body and glans of the clitoris becoming up to three times larger during arousal – and you thought a penile erection was impressive!
Foetus genital and reproductive organs are differentiated at six weeks' gestation. While the clitoris and penis arise from the same group of cells in a zygote, we now know they clearly have different forms and functions.
Left: the clitoris from an anterior view. All four parts of the clitoris are visible in this view: the glans (external portion), the body, the bulbs and the crura. Right: the clitoris from a side view. Only one crus (plural: crura) and bulb …moreThe penis has an obvious and well-researched role in the reproductive and urinary systems, while the function of the clitoris is usually stated as being purely for pleasure.
However, few studies have actually investigated the function of the clitoris. The close proximity of the clitoris to the urethra and vagina has led to suggestions that it plays a much larger role than sexual pleasure, such as assisting in maintaining immune health.
What we don't know can hurt us
Censoring the clitoris in textbooks means doctors and other health-care professionals won't be equipped to treat patients with clitoral concerns. Women are at risk of sexual dysfunction (such as lack of desire or arousal, decreased lubrication, inability to orgasm) from operations on their urinary and reproductive organs. This shows doctors need more in-depth knowledge, and we need further research into understanding the anatomy of the clitoris.
Because of its delicate yet complex make-up, the clitoris is prone to infections, inflammation and diseases. Some common examples are itching and soreness due to thrush infections, swelling due to bruising or inflammation, and pain of unknown origin (called clitorodynia).
Although it is not often spoken about, clitoral and vulvar pain are very common in women.
Educating patients about their condition can improve pain outcomes. Yet this may be difficult for doctors treating conditions such as clitorodynia, given they may not be receiving adequate information about the clitoris themselves.
On average, one-third of university-aged women are unable to find the clitoris on a diagram. We frequently use synonyms of females' reproductive organs as derogatory terms ("pussy" to mean weak, "cunt" to mean an unpleasant person) and many women are often not comfortable using anatomically correct terms. More than 65% of women say they feel uneasy using the terms vagina and vulva. Instead they use code names such as "lady parts", even when discussing gynaecological issues with their doctors.
Given there is evidence to suggest our sense of body ownership can influence pain, perhaps this lack of body ownership over the clitoris helps to explain why conditions such as clitorodynia are common.
